Testing the Dash Software on the Laptop.

So I tried the software on the laptop today. Apparently my guesstimate of 1/6 the speed was pretty close.

I'm getting 471 FPS on the laptop. The laptop is a Celeron 466mhz with a ATI Rage Mobility. The devel system a P4 2.6ghz witha Nvidia Geforce 6600 256mb card.

Curious though. The difference in frame rate is linear with the processor clock. I'm guessing SDL isn't really taking advantage of the hardware of the Nvidia. I would think that even the increase in bus speeds would give it an edge hertz for hertz.

Perhaps it is and the new "hertz" doesn't equal the old "hertz". Speed is becoming a somewhat spotty indicator of performance these days.

Anyway, plenty of CPU to spare and it's still pretty raw at this point.
